Aloha!

It feels so good to be back in Hawaii after 11 days at sea. When we arrived here 6 months ago, we had no expectations. Big city, yacht club, not sure how we will fit.

Fast forward to May. After being away for 2 months of cruising, 5 atolls, 2 amazing volcanic islands, and almost 6000 sea miles, the lights of Diamond Head were a welcome sight. And when we slid into our old slip at the end of E-dock, it felt like we were home.

Customs met us at 7:30 the next morning. Agriculture at 7:45–I called them at 7. Our friends were at the dock at first light, and visited throughout the day. Fishing buddies, racing friends, neighbors, the Commodore, the head maintenance guy, bartenders, everyone actually missed us. And we missed them. The Aloha of this place is amazing. It is good to be back.

Talia has more to say, but I will leave you with a few photos to tide you over until she shares the full report. Suffice to say that Dogbark took very good care of her crew, and we had another fast, safe passage. The girls stood watch 8 out of every 24 hours, through squalls, doldrums and ripping fast reaching. I could not be prouder.

Such familiar scenes make me homesick for Alawai and Ilikai, too.! How sweet to have wonderful Aloha friends wherever you guys go…it’s bliss to hear about.
