"I haven't read anything that has moved me this much since Wonder." --Jennifer Niven, author of All the Bright Places A space-obsessed boy and his dog, Carl Sagan, take a journey toward family, love, hope, and awe in this funny and moving novel for fans of Counting by 7s, Walk Two Moons, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. 11-year-old Alex Petroski loves space and rockets, his mom, his brother, and his…

Age: 10+

Alex loves space. His goal is to launch his golden iPod into space so that life on other planets will know what earth is like. The story is told by listening to the recordings he makes on the golden iPod about his adventures with his dog Carl Sagan, named after his hero, the famous astronomer. My favorite part about this book is Alex’s funny and unusual perspective. Even people like me who aren’t particularly interested in space will enjoy this book. If you like books with dogs and quirky characters, then this is the book for you!

Note: This book has a dark side and can be very sad at times because Alex’s mom is ill and does not take good care of him.
