Just a quick note to say that we arrived in The Marquesas safe and sound. 2360 miles, 11 days, 16 squalls, 97 dolphins, 6 whales, one Mahi Mahi, one big eye tuna, one monster Ono (wahoo), one lost gaff hook, and six tired but happy people.
It was 10 days of upwind sailing, mostly fast, and quite wet. Meaning Dogbark’s dodger, or spray hood, worked hard to keep us dry. But at times it felt a little bit like cellophane on a torpedo. Top speed, 19.1 knots, in a squall, with only the reefed main up. Believe it or not, Janna said that was one of the highlights of the trip for her. I guess I may be rubbing off on her…or Dogbark is. What a boat. Thank you Kanga Birtles!
Yippee. Glad to hear you made it south. Looking forward to more details as they come! Congrats. Dan & Megan
Thanks Dan, fun to be here with a bay full of cruisers, and cruiser kids!
Hooray! Life is definitely an adventure!
Glad you are safe and all had fun…hugs
Been watching your whereabouts daily. When I saw where you heaved hi, I told Mary, “I’I’ll bet they’ll be there for a few days.” Google’s pictures of that town are beautiful. Can’t believe that speed. Must’ve been work in a squall. Keep living the dream.

Yippee! So glad to see your shining faces — soaked with water and joy and now safely nestled in the islands. xoxo – Katy and Martin

And Arlo says: have a poisson cru breakfast for us at the snack. And say hi to Itchy Foot Alondra and Luminesce for us if you see em! Thanks
Great to see she is still a wonderful passagemaker – brings back a lot of memories.
Great sailing!
