Once again our eye in the sky captures some interesting footage aboard S/V Dogbark thanks to John Guillote. The wildlife here is amazing! But wait a minute. Which of these critters does NOT belong in the Arctic? And, bonus points, who can glimpse a walrus???
As always, humor reigns!
Could not keep the smile off my face…so fun!
This is SPECTACULAR !!!! I loved every second of this….just what I’ve been wishing to see. This drone is SOMETHING … I’m going to watch this over and over. Loved all the dancing and the music you party animals.
What an opportunity to really see you and to see what you’re seeing. Priceless !!!!!!! Great job, John !

We love you guys and can’t tell you the gratitude we have for you sharing your adventure!
Be safe and sail fast and swift!
Love, Karla (and David)
Excellent video! What an incredible adventure you’re having!
Thanks Keith. A little levity goes a long way when we feel like we are living in Groundhog Day, waiting for the NW passage to open. Patience is a skill we work on every day, and each of us is dealing with it a little differently…Savai is by far the best at this waiting stuff!
Fantastic video footage… Kudos! DOGBARK moves with grace! Seek a protected anchorage from East winds ASAP.
Thanks! Just waiting for the 1400 forecast before we shift to make sure we pick the right spot.
Wow! The drone footage is fantastic. I also love the music. At about 1:40 in the video, it looks like there are houses/buildings on a spit, where is that? It seems so remote. What a great adventure!
It is a whaling camp on the little island behind us. Uninhabited now, but still used seasonally.
We loved this and love following your adventure. Thinking of you guys and keeping tabs on you!
Your fans are grateful that you’re posting under challenging conditions! Thanks! Our wishes are for your journey. It’s clear that all hands on board are pulling together. Your priority is getting through before the harsher eastern Atlantic ice window closes.
We can wait.
Your 6 author blog has been spot on. You’re likely summarizing while assessing the thousands of data points you need to analyze to transit the Northwest Passage. You guys have a book. Right now for me it’s “Dogbark! Shortest Summer ever.”
Please continue to point out the facts. How climate change has possibly (???) made it may have made it safer to do the Northwest Passage in 2018 while the unpredictabilty of new storms is there when you arrive in the Atlanic.
Your experieeces have enormours consequences for all of us. Carry on. No need to reply now. You’re making history. Thanks.
No sign of Santa yet…
Thanks for the laugh! The Arctic will never be the same!!
