Dogbark pulled in to Port Townsend at 4 pm on August 25th. We were greeted by family and friends with tears in their eyes. There was much hugging and merriment. We celebrated Savai’s birthday the next day by clamming and cooking, then moved Dogbark to Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island.
It’s so great to be home! Thanks so much to all the people who helped us along the way and before the trip even began. And thanks to Dogbark for being such a wonderfully quirky, sporty, and strong form of transportation.
It feels strange to be back in the world of overflowing schedules, sprints to assorted appointments, and constant cell signal. But we love it, too. It’s great to be able to drive anywhere and see friends and family whenever we want!
Dogbark is back, and here to stay. Well, at least until next summer…
P.S.: Super exciting announcement!!!!! As was promised before we left, we are getting a lab puppy to match the one on the bow of our boat! Wooohooo!
Welcome Home. Looking forward to seeing all of you.
Hugs Renee’
Welcome back!!!
Happy Birthday Savai!
Great news on the new puppy!
Hope to see you soon!
Hurray for the GREAT news of arriving home!
We miss you all in Hawaii. Firefly is getting ready for the Lahaina Return race on 9/2 and she could use a Graeme and Tali on board. But home calls our hearts so we understand the joy of being surrounded again by family and friends. Just dont forget your Firefly family too!
BEST News is the promise of a puppy! Send pics when the furry family member arrives.
love ya all

Go, Firefly! Here’s to hoping we can train Rainie as well as you trained Trim!
Welcome home, good work, thanks for the vicarious enjoyment for this sailor. Can’t wait to meet the lucky new crew member.
Great to have you back and I hope you will love your dog 😁
Welcome Back! Didn’t even see you all come through PT. Welcome back to land madness and hope you can keep your cruising calm!
See you all around!,

Port Townsend Boat Co.
Thanks, Rob. It was a quick stop. Now we’re down in Bainbridge but my folks live in PT so we’ll be back and forth a lot. Hope to continue cruising Dogbark locally–after all we have some of the best cruising grounds in the world right here in the Salish Sea!
Great trip thank you for sharing
Are you going to try the NWP next summer.
Thanks for following along, Frank. You’re not the first to ask if we’ll try the NW Passage again, Frank. Definitely not next summer, but I suspect Graeme will give it another try at some point. I’m on the fence. Maybe I’ll just meet him in Greenland next time. Time will tell…
Welcome home! Congrats on your latest voyage!!
So happy for you all. Lets set a time to swap stories and share the love of it all. I will be in Seattle starting next week for 2 weeks. If your in town then we must get together. Have fun settling back in and reconnecting. Dan & Megan.
Fantastic experience for everyone I am sure! Welcome back to the PNW. Terry
Welcome home! ❤️ Can’t wait to see you!

Ummm…. that dog is RED!!! But I never saw a red lab except on your boat! Congrats on the new “baby” and a successful adventure and return home! Welcome back!
We looked at red labs (Graeme’s brother Ashley has a true red lab), but decided on a chocolate in the end. She reminds me of my old chocolate lab named Scout. Lots of work but SO MUCH FUN!
