“Uggghhh!” “I don’t want to get up” moaned my sister, or maybe it was me. My brain doesn’t work very well at 5:00 am. The plan of the day was to wake up at five, get ready with water bottles and breakfast, meet Becca on the dock at 5:25 to get in our rental gold Chevy Uplander, drive four hours round trip to Tow hill hike and the semi famous blow-hole hike. When that plan got into action, well it did not go as planned. We all got in the car and on the way at about 5:40, which was late and we were worried that we wouldn’t make it back in time to return the car by 10:30am. We listened to one of our favorite audio books, Wonder, by R.J. Palaccio. It’s a great book.
Well anyway we didn’t have breakfast and we arrived at about 7:30am and when we got there the parking lot was empty except for a van with a beautiful mural, including three deer and a forest behind them. We started up the trail to Tow hill and we found it was a great board walk that was well maintained and was great for running back and forth to see the next bend and run back to Becca and mom.The steps were also good for hopping up, skipping up, and walking up but I probably walked for only two steps of the way. 🙂 When we reached the first view-point we thought we were high up but when we reached the second we were amazed. There was a platform and a set of binoculars. You could see everything for miles.
After we took a number of selfies, panoramas and photos it was time to head down. Well me and Talia ran down as fast as we could without falling. We eventually made it down the hill and to the lower boardwalk. There we saw all these holes in the rock. As we walked around it was scary because the blowhole could blow at you any second. We eventually found it and it was a big hole. It was not just wide, but it was deep. Then we looked to our right. More rocks. But when we looked to our left there was semi steep rocks leading down to a field of sea-foam. It was crazy. I had only seen little 1’x1′ patches. But this was at least 20’x20′. Me and Talia walked right in.
We made it back in time to return our rental car… Phew!!!
What a cool hike and awesome view! Glad to see you are having such a great time!!!
Thanks Mr.walker!
Ms Smith would be proud… missing you and I really liked the sea foam
Hope you have fun
Savai, what’s the report on the B I G blowhole? Did it blow while y’all were there? Don’t
forget to share lots of pictures taken from the perspective of two of my favorite gals! Glad you enjoyed the sounds of narwhals found in the article I sent SonJohn. 🙂
Looks cool!
Savai, I LOVED hearing about your magical adventures. And I need to say this: You are an amazing writer! I could really visualize where you were and what you were seeing. And you have a great “voice” … if you’re not sure what that is, ask your sweet mom.
Keep us posted on your future adventures!
That sounds awesome! The pictures are cool as always. I am guessing John took the photos.
